I’m finally free of the lead weight that was Orange Broadband. I’ve been a customer since the freeserve / wanadoo days and their service has got progressively worse.  In particular their traffic shaping policies made online gaming hit and miss – even after switching-off interleaving.

After much research, I picked Zen Internet. They seem to get universal praise. Switch-over happened seamlessly today. Took 2 minutes to update the router and a quick speedtest is deliveing 15mb download (over ADSL2), 1mb upload and..importantly a ping of 20ms (that’s the best I’ve ever had).

The service isn’t the cheapest – but they have no traffic shaping in place and support is out of the UK.
